Description
Cherry Tree Cottage is a house dating from 1777, as indicated by the datestone. It is constructed from watershot squared rubble and features a graduated stone slate roof, although the rear has been replaced with slate. The building has a double-depth plan with two bays and two storeys, and it is accented by quoins.
The entrance door is located to the right and has a dressed surround. There are three and four-light double-chamfered stone mullion windows on each floor, with an inscribed datestone positioned between the first-floor windows. Notably, the left ground floor window is missing its right jamb, likely due to a door that was inserted and later removed at some point in the cottage's history. The cottage also has ridge chimney stacks and features three and two-light chamfered mullion windows on the sides and rear.
