Description
No. 9 Higher Park is a house that was originally three cottages, built in the late 18th century. It features hammer-dressed watershot stone and a slate roof. The building has a three-bay, two-storey layout that is one room deep, and it is notable for having a long front elevation that is gabled. There is a lower two-storey wing at the rear, which is of an earlier date. The ground floor includes two three-light windows and two two-light windows, while the first floor has three three-light windows, all with recessed flat-faced stone mullions. There is a 20th-century porch in the second bay and a blocked door that has been converted into a window in the first bay. To the right, there is a small wing and a 20th-century addition. The rear wing has similar windows and features a blocked cart-entry with a timber lintel.
