Description
Top o' th' Fold is a group of three houses built in the late 18th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone laid in narrow courses and feature a graduated stone slate roof. The buildings have a double-depth plan with a total of three bays and two storeys. There are three doors, each with dressed stone surrounds. The houses have five, five, and three-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows on each floor, although the bottom left window has had all its mullions removed. Additionally, two small 20th-century windows have been inserted on the first floor. The ridge features chimney stacks, one of which has been rebuilt in brick. The right gable has three two-light windows, while the left gable is rendered. The rear of the houses includes a total of four two-light windows, one three-light window, and three four-light windows, as previously described.
