Description
A house, built around 1810 and later divided into two separate dwellings at 93 and 95 Stockport Road, Saddleworth, stands as an example of early 19th-century domestic architecture. Constructed with hammer-dressed watershot stone and a graduated stone slate roof, the building follows a double-depth central-staircase plan, including three storeys and a two-storey wing to the rear. The three-bay front is characterised by a central door framed by a dentilled pediment, and a dentilled eaves cornice running along the roofline. The windows are stone mullioned; bays 1 and 3 feature three-light recessed flat-faced windows, while bay 2 has a single-light window above the front door. All windows on the top floor are blocked. The rear features coped gables with kneelers and two ridge chimney stacks. Further windows are present in the gables, with three and four-light openings. Entry to number 93 is through the left gable, where the door is surrounded by square-cut stonework.
