Description

Running Hill Farmhouse, now a house, dates from the mid-18th century with later 18th-century additions and 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone with a graduated stone slate roof. It is a single-depth building comprising two bays and two storeys. Quoins are visible. The ground floor has five-light and three-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows. The first floor has an eight-light recessed cavetto-moulded workshop window. There are two ridge chimney stacks. A 20th-century addition is present to the right. The gable entrance has a square-cut surround, now obscured by a 20th-century porch, and includes two-light gable windows. Inserted windows are present to the rear, although one original three-light recessed flat-faced mullion window remains.
