Description

Lane Head Farm is an early 18th-century house, formerly a house, cottage, and barn. The building is constructed of roughly coursed and squared rubble with a Welsh slate roof. Originally a three-unit plan, it has end stacks and a doorway originally located to the right of the centre. A new gabled stone porch has been added to the entrance, flanked by re-cut stone mullioned windows of two and three lights. The upper windows feature re-cut two-light mullions. A two-window range to the left was formerly occupied as a separate cottage, with the present openings being renewed. To the right, a former barn projects, with its roof sloping downwards over what may have been a former aisle. Stone mullioned windows have been inserted into the barn, and a further gabled porch has been added to its left side.
