Description

Two houses, now incorporating flats, were built around 1830 for James Shaw. They are constructed of watershot hammer-dressed stone with a graduated stone slate roof. Each house has a double-depth, L-shaped plan and three storeys, with access through the gable end. Each features a five-light recessed mullion window on every floor, with flat-faced stonework. Decorative eaves gutter brackets and gable chimney stacks are present. Two two-light mullion windows are situated on each gable. A small brick lean-to extension is attached to the rear.
