Description
Higher Fold Cottage is a 18th-century building dated 'K/IA/1732', which is displayed in a decorated panel over the porch. The cottage is constructed from rubble stone, arranged in courses that diminish towards the top. It features three stone-mullioned windows, with the right-hand window set in an advanced gable that has flush quoins. The left-hand window is missing its mullions, and the middle lower window has only two remaining. There are drip moulds above the ground floor windows and the upper gable window. The doorway, which is located to the right of the left-hand window, has a Tudor-style head and is backed by a chimney. The gable porch is made of thin slabs that are keyed together, and the roof is covered with stone slabs. There are further chimneys at each end of the building.
