Description
This building is a terrace of five cottages located at 653-661 Blackburn Road, dating from around 1840. The cottages are constructed from roughly coursed and squared stone and feature a slate roof that is hipped to the left.
The exterior consists of two storeys with a five-window range, including a canted corner at Ramsay Street and a single window return. Each cottage is a single-unit, double-pile plan dwelling, with doorways framed by round arched architraves that have simple imposts and keystones, particularly noticeable at the canted angle of No. 653. The windows have been renewed but remain in their original openings, complete with wedge lintels. Notably, the wider window at No. 653 suggests that it may have originally served as a shop. The terrace features four ridge chimneys and a gable chimney on the right side.
The interior has not been inspected.
