Description

A terrace of four estate cottages built in the mid-19th century. The cottages are constructed of coursed and squared stone rubble, with gable and rear walls rendered. They have slated roofs and rendered chimneys on each gable end and on the ridge between numbers 2 and 3. Each cottage likely comprises one room wide and one room deep, with doorways to numbers 1 and 4 situated to the rear. There are two large rear wings shared among the four cottages. The terrace has two storeys and six windows across the front. The windows are wood casements with four tall, narrow panes per light, with three lights on the ground storey and two above. Hoodmoulds, constructed of long squared blocks of stone on short squared stone brackets, feature above the windows, alongside half-glazed doors. At the left-hand end of the terrace, the entrance to number 1 is marked by two stone and rubble gate piers with caps built of stones on edge.
