Description

A former barn, dating to the 17th and 19th centuries, converted into residential use. It is a timber-frame structure with stone walls and a stone slate roof. The barn is rectangular and full-aisled, with domestic accommodation positioned at one end. The walls are constructed of coursed squared rubble with dressed quoins and window surrounds, believed to be of 19th-century origin. Some openings lack dressings, including the main barn doors. Two brick ridge stacks are present at one end of the roof.

The interior comprises a four-bay aisled barn featuring posts, main purlins, ties, and diagonal struts of substantial size. Also present are principal rafters, queen struts, two further tiers of purlins, collar beams, and windbraces, all apparently dating to the 17th century.
