Description
The gate piers and gates to the churchyard of the Parish Church of St Peter, located on Silverwell Street, are likely from the early 19th century. They are made of rusticated ashlar stone and feature cast and wrought iron elements. The main gate is flanked by rusticated ashlar piers that have a quatrefoil frieze and raking copings. The gates themselves are made of cast iron, adorned with acanthus decoration, and include a wrought-iron overthrow. There are also lower and simpler outer piers, with a side gate made of similarly decorated cast iron to the right, and a length of cast-iron railings to the left.
