Description
Lower House Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed from dressed stone with quoins and a slate roof. The building has two storeys and four bays, with the fourth bay being taller than the others. On the ground floor, there are single-chamfered-mullioned windows with label moulds, although the first-floor windows have lost two of their mullions. The fourth bay features a 20th-century casement window. The first-floor windows are casements, with the one in the fourth bay being small-paned. The entrance is marked by a large lintel and a label mould. The right side of the building has a stone staircase leading to a first-floor entrance. The farmhouse has gable-end and cross-axial stacks. At the rear, there is an outshut beneath a cat-slide roof and a three-light window. Inside, the farmhouse features chamfered beams, including one with a forked end, which is likely a bressumer.
