Description
Horwich Parish Hall, formerly Horwich School, is a building that now serves as a community centre. A round-headed plaque indicates that it was erected in 1793, with alterations made in the late 19th century or early 20th century. The structure is made of dressed stone with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The building features quoins and bargeboards on the gablets. The ground floor has Venetian windows with flat surrounds, while the first floor includes large inserted casement windows beneath gablets, with timber framing at the apexes flanking a Diocletian window. A central gabled porch has a Tudor-headed entrance with a hoodmould and a plaque above. There is a stack on the right gable end, and the left return has three Venetian windows. The building is included for its group value.
