Description
The Village Hall in Priston is a building that was originally a poorhouse and underwent significant alterations in 1838 when it was converted into a school. It has since been extended to serve as a village hall. The structure is made of rubble with freestone dressings and features Bridgewater tiles. The gabled hall has three windows, all with chamfered transoms and mullions. There is an off-center right gabled porch with raised coped verges and a chamfered round-headed doorway beneath a blank square light. At the rear, there is a central gabled wing that has two sash windows. To the right, there are two windows similar to those at the front, and to the left, there is a gabled lower parallel range with a 20th-century extension. Inside, the hall showcases a displayed strutted kingpost roof.
