Description
The Dovecote is an early 19th-century structure located at Hulton Park Home Farm. It is made of red brick and features a grey slate roof. The dovecote is small and octagonal in shape, topped with a hipped roof that has iron covers at the hips. A central raised lantern, framed in wood and capped with a conical slate roof, is supported by a wooden post. Some slates are missing from the roof. The building has a plain entrance doorway and two circular openings framed in brick, spaced around its sides. Internal nesting boxes are reported to be intact. This dovecote is one of the few remaining structures associated with Hulton Hall, which was demolished in 1957, and it was likely built around the same time as the hall and the surviving stables in the early years of the 19th century.
