Description

Cross Cottages are a pair of cottages, likely dating from the 17th century, and altered and extended to the rear and left. They are built of rendered brick, painted to resemble a timber frame, and have a thatched roof with a brick chimney. The cottages are one storey high, with attic bedrooms in the roof, and comprise three bays. The windows are timber casements, probably dating from the 19th century, and set in small openings. There are 19th-century boarded doors.

Inside the right-hand cottage is an ingle nook featuring a tapered oak beam. The upper floor has oak main beams and some oak joists, with oak purlins and rough rafters, likely of oak. The interior of the unoccupied left-hand cottage was not inspected.
