Description

Yew Tree Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century or earlier, likely re-faced in brick around 1800, and subsequently altered. It has a grey slate roof. Some original oak framing with rectangular panels remains visible in the left wall of the rear wing. The building is two storeys high and L-shaped, with four windows facing the front and two on the rear wing. The windows are timber casements, probably dating from the 19th or early 20th century, set within older openings and beneath skewback arches. The doors are boarded.

Inside, two ingle nooks, one in the front wing and one in the rear wing, feature brick ridge chimneys and oak hood-beams; the hood-beam in the front wing is particularly large. The rear wing contains an arched oak beam beside the lobby entrance. Other interior features include boarded internal doors and a simple enclosed staircase.
