Description
Beehive Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century and has been altered over time. It has a T-shaped layout, with the front wing constructed of oak framing in rectangular panels sitting on a brick plinth, while the rear wing, which is probably from the late 18th century, is made of brick. The roofs are covered with red tiles, and the building was formerly thatched. The right gable may include parts of a former pair of crucks, while the left gable is rendered. There are brick chimneys that are flush on the left gable, left of center on the front ridge, and central on the rear wing. The front wing features three bays and is one storey high with attic bedrooms. Part of the 1½ storey rear wing was used as a shippon. The windows are small timber casements, likely from the 19th century, and there is one dormer gable on the front.
The interior, which has not been fully inspected, contains many oak beams and boarded doors with T hinges. The farmhouse likely originally had a lobby entrance but has been modified since then.
