Description
A late 17th-century cottage located on Lumb Brook Road at Wrights's Green in Appleton. The front gable and the front portion of the right side are timber-framed with rectangular panels, while the remaining walls are brown brick, likely dating to the 19th century. The roof is covered with brown tiles and features a brick chimney. The house is of 1½ storeys and two bays, with a single-storey brick lean-to addition at the rear, slightly extended in the mid-20th century. It has mullioned windows: a 5-light window in the rear gable (with the centre light bricked up) and leaded glazing elsewhere. The left wall has leaded glazing, and the right wall has a 2-light window with small iron casements. Inside, the bedrooms have doors made of broad boards.
