Description
Black Jane Farm House is a farm house built in 1729, as indicated on a tablet at the eaves. It is constructed of brown brick and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and five bays, with later additions to the gables. The corners are accentuated with stone flush quoins. The entrance is marked by a timber doorcase that has architraves flanked by half pilasters, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice, which contains a half-glazed door. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, stone sills, and skewback heads. There is a three-course deep brick band at the first-floor level. Above the central window on the first floor, there is an inscribed tablet that reads "R.S.L." along with the date. The house has an old slate roof with stacks at the ends.
