Description
Daresbury Hall is a mansion dating from 1759, now used as an institution. It is constructed of brown brick with a slate roof and features three storeys and seven bays, along with a well-proportioned seven-bay return to the north. The building has a stone moulded plinth and floor bands, with rusticated giant pilasters flanking the three central bays and matching stone quoins of constant width. The stone door case includes a moulded architrave, a pulvinated frieze, and consoles beneath a pediment. The recessed sash windows have glazing bars, plain architraves, and keys to their heads. A stone eaves cornice is topped by a central pediment and a solid parapet with moulded coping. The hipped roof features chimneys with stone caps. Inside, there are two staircases with turned balusters, one of which has a cut and shaped bracketed string. The doors are fitted with six fielded panels, and there are some notable mantels.
