Description

No. 31 Main Street is a former stable building that has been converted into a dwelling. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed from red sandstone with a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has five bays. The walls are made of squared rubble, and there are three Gothic windows on the ground floor, each with rendered surrounds, stone sills, and cast iron lattice casements. The entrance features a six-panel door with a narrow rendered surround. At the first floor level, there is a square pitch hole that has been blocked internally and filled with an unglazed pair of lattice casements. The gables are topped with sandstone copings.
