Description
Frodsham Bridge is a road bridge over the River Weaver, built in 1850. It is constructed of red sandstone and limestone and features three deep segmental arches, each with a span of approximately 25 metres. The bridge has limestone voussoirs with chamfered rock-faced rustication, and the plain parapets are made of smooth-finished limestone blocks. The remaining parts of the structure are crafted from tooled sandstone with chamfered rustication. The bridge includes slightly projecting rectangular piers with round-arched niches and battered abutments. Each face of the central arch has a raised keystone inscribed with the year 1850.
