Description
Marbury Mill is a water-powered corn mill located on Marbury Road, with its lower two storeys likely dating from the 17th century and a third storey and loft added in the 19th century. The building is mostly plastered, but some oak framing with diagonal braces is visible in the lower two storeys. The third storey features four horizontally-sliding sash windows. It has a grey slate roof, a brick outshut on the right, and an open-fronted lean-to loading bay at the front supported by timber posts. Inside, there is a cast iron breast-wheel and a complete set of machinery, likely from the late 19th century, which includes three pairs of underdrift stones and a wooden oat-roller.
