Description
The statue of Sir John Brunner, created in 1922 by W. Goscombe John, is located in front of the Research Laboratory at Winnington Works in Northwich. This life-sized bronze statue stands on an ochre granite plinth. It depicts Brunner as a bearded man in a morning coat, with his left thumb in his trouser pocket and his right hand gesturing as if to invite approval of the achievements of Brunner Mond. The inscription on the statue reads: "THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR JOHN BRUNNER BART LLD BORN 9 FEBRUARY 1842 DIED 1 JULY 1919: W GOSCOMBE JOHN RA." The statue is positioned symmetrically with the statue of Ludwig Mond in the forecourt of the ICI Research Laboratory.
