Description
Poulton Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1860 for the 2nd Marquis of Westminster, representing a well-preserved example of his estate improvements. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a grey slate gabled roof. The building has three rectangular brick chimneys with sandstone caps. This long farmhouse includes cheesemaking rooms at the left end and is two storeys high with seven windows. The windows are small-pane cast iron casements set in timber sub-frames, arranged in groups of four and six lights, with transoms on the lower windows. The front door, located in the end gable on the right, is a six-panel design beneath a stone label-mould lintel. There is also a framed and boarded back door. Overall, the farmhouse is a simple structure with minimal decorative features.
