Description
Nos. 6 and 8 Church Street is a former terrace of three cottages, now comprising two, dating from 1772 with minor 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of Flemish bond brown brick and features a Welsh slate roof with one ridge and one gable brick chimney. It has a two-storey, six-bay front with windows that are two-light wooden mullioned and transomed casements, complete with top lights that are hinged. These windows have channelled stone heads and stone sills. There are two surviving doorways with semi-circular heads and plain fanlights, while No. 8 retains a six-panelled door. The doorway at the left end is now blocked. Above No. 6, there is a semi-circular headed tablet that reads "R I * M 1772."
