Description

The L-shaped shippon at Hall Farm, dating from the early 19th century, is a late Georgian agricultural building located 50 meters southwest of the farmhouse. It features walls made of brown brick in English garden wall bond and local sandstone squared coursed rubble. The roof is covered with graded grey Welsh slate and has flush gables. The ground floor window and door openings have been altered. The hayloft includes diabolo-shaped vent patterns and a loading door in the east gable, which is topped with a brick segmental arch and has a boarded door. Additionally, there is one circular pitch-hole with a shaped sandstone cill. The shippon is complemented by a sandstone farmyard wall with flush rounded coping stones.
