Description
Faulkner's Bridge, also known as canal bridge No. 116, is a canal accommodation bridge built around 1776 by Samuel Weston for the Chester Canal Company. It is constructed of orange brick, with some blue brick repairs. The bridge features a segmental arch supported by stone springers and a keystone, with a projecting stone band above. The wing walls curve outward and terminate in square pilasters. The parapet is plain, partly repaired, and has flat stone coping. This bridge represents the standard design for accommodation bridges on this canal.
