Description

The Vicarage is a building constructed around 1874-1875 by architect John Douglas. It is made of red English garden wall bond brick, features a plain tile roof, and has timber framing on the first floor. The building has two storeys.

On the entrance front, there is a door located to the left of the centre, accompanied by a timber porch and single-light windows on either side. To the right of the door, there are two 4-light windows with mullions and a single transom each, featuring ovolo-moulded surrounds, with the right window projecting slightly. The first floor has a jetty supported by wooden brackets resting on ashlar corbels, with close-studded walling and a central 5-light casement window, flanked by similar 4-light windows. Each window is topped with a gable that has chevron strutting. To the left of this section is a part of the wall made of brick on both the ground and first floors, lacking timber framing or an overhang. A chimney stack with offsets is located to the left of this section.

At the garden front (the rear), there is a canted bay on the right with 2-light windows at the centre and corners, along with timber framing on the first floor. To the left of the bay is a 20th-century lean-to conservatory, featuring a 5-light staircase window above at the first floor level with an ovolo-moulded surround. Further left is a projecting gabled bay that contains the service staircase, with a 3-light window on the ground floor, two single-light windows on the first floor, and a timber-framed gable. The leftmost bay has 20th-century kitchen windows, including 2 and 3-light windows, with a 3-light window on the first floor.
