Description
The L-shaped farmbuilding at Barrow Hall dates from the early to mid-18th century, with some later modifications. The structure features a partly stone ground storey and partly washed orange brick, topped with a Welsh slate roof.
The north front of the south range is two storeys high and consists of 14 bays, adorned with a dentil cornice. It has board floors beneath flat stone and segmental brick heads, with two small pane iron casements below. Above these, there are small windows, square pitch holes, and X-shaped ventilation patterns.
The west front of the east range also has a stone ground storey and is two storeys tall with eight bays. It features a brick dentil cornice, four board doors under flat stone lintels, and four windows with some surviving small pane glazing. Above these are two square pitch holes and a line of X-shaped ventilation patterns.
Several large openings from the 20th century have been added to the rear of these ranges. A three-bay brick building from the 19th and 20th centuries, which has been added to the north end of the east range, is not included in this listing.
