Description

The White House is a house, originally a farmhouse, dating from the early 17th century, with significant development in the early 18th century. Later alterations were made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The house is constructed of washed and rendered timber framing and washed brick, with a Welsh slate roof and three brick chimneys. It is of 1 and 3 storeys and has a 4-bay front. The left-hand bay is single-storey and timber-framed, featuring a three-light casement window with two lights set beneath segmental brick arches, and a top light inserted into an attic storey. A gabled brick porch with a brick arched entrance is located in the central bay of this portion. The interior is said to contain exposed timber framing, ceiling beams, and a squint window providing a view between the kitchen in the single-storey section and the main house.
