Description
Holme Bank is a house built in the late 18th century, featuring a mid-19th century verandah. It is constructed of stuccoed brick and has a hipped Welsh slate roof with plastered chimneys. The building has a double-pile plan and a symmetrical, two-storey front with three bays. It is elevated and surrounded by a stone-flagged terrace, which is accessed by four stone steps leading to the verandah. The verandah is supported by square wooden piers on stone bases and features a moulded capstone with balusters and shaped spandrels.
The house has deep casements at the back, which include diamond-shaped glazing bars. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with marginal lights that also have similar glazing bars, topped by a segmental fanlight. The end bays of the house project slightly forward, and there is a plain band at the first-floor sill level, along with a moulded cornice and a low blocking course. The upper storey features 12-pane sash windows. The interior has not been inspected.
