Description

No. 51, High Street is a 17th-century farmhouse, later altered in the mid-20th century and now used as a house. The construction is partly timber-framed with brick nogging set on a natural sandstone base, with the remainder in brick. The roof is covered with purple tiles, and there are two brick chimneys. The front of the building is two stories and three bays wide. It features eight small, irregular windows. The ground floor has a small-pane iron casement and three 20th-century wooden casements with applied lead glazing. A board door is accessed by six stone steps with a 20th-century iron stair. The upper floor has two four-light windows within half-dormers, featuring applied timber framing. The interior was not inspected.
