Description

Barrow Hall is a farmhouse and cottage, dating from the late 17th century and early to mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of washed brick with a Welsh slate roof and two brick chimneys. The building comprises a long range of house and cottage set in a line. The front facade is two and three storeys high, with seven bays. The right-hand three bays are symmetrical and three stories high, featuring clasping plain end pilasters. These end bays have cambered heads to three-light wooden casements, some with glazing bars. The central bay is flanked by plain strip pilasters. A six-panelled door is topped by a triangular pediment on a modillion cornice, with a two-light casement above. The remaining two-storey section features a dentil cornice and similar three-light casements, two with glazing bars, and a door with a simple fanlight. The left-hand end bay has a small-pane fire window. A three-storey gabled porch is located at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
