Description
Cross Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been altered and extended at the rear. It is constructed of red sandstone and stands two storeys high with one window. The gable wall facing the road features an entrance and mullion windows; the ground floor has a four-light window on the gable, while the first floor and the side have two-light windows, all with chamfered reveals. The rear wall includes metal casements at the ground floor, which have a brick cill. The cottage is partly built on natural rock, and the stone plinth is chamfered. There is a moulded band at the first floor, with projecting stones on either side, two courses above the band. The gable has a moulded stone parapet with a squared apex and stone kneelers, along with a plain eaves band. The entrance is accessed through an added porch on the side.
