Description

Laurels Farmhouse is a brick farmhouse dated 1705, with a later addition to the rear. It has a stone plinth and dressings, and a slate roof. The main part of the house is two storeys high, with attics and cellars, while a cross wing has a shallow pitched roof. The front of the house has two windows, with recessed sash windows featuring glazing bars, splayed brick heads, and stone sills. The windows are set within arches, and the front door is within a doorcase with moulded pilasters and a flat cornice, leading to a panelled door. A plain brick band runs along the front and sides of the main wing, and there are flush stone quoins. Brick stacks are located between the main wing and the cross wing, and at the right gable. An inscribed tablet reading "WIM 1705" is visible below the gable. A rear window features small panes and broad timber frames. The rear wing has a dentillated eaves band. Inside, the front right room has panelled cupboards, shutters, and a moulded window architrave, along with bead moulded beams. Some of the doors are six-panelled.
