Description
The Long Greenhouse, located east of the Southern Walled Garden, is a late 19th-century structure. It features a long rectangular shape with a timber-glazed eastern side and roof, while the western side is made of yellow brick. The greenhouse has a central pedimented porch on the east side, topped with a two-stage glazed spire that includes top-hung ventilators. There are pairs of round-arched timber doors, with eight doors providing access to the formal garden to the east and one door at each end. A flight of four shaped stone steps leads to the south doors, flanked by two corner pedestals that carry pineapple finials.
