Description
The equestrian statue and plinth located at the center of the stable yard in Eaton Park was created around 1875 by the sculptor Edgar Boehm for the 1st Duke of Westminster. This statue features a bronze depiction of a rearing stallion, modeled on the English thoroughbred named Citadel, which stands above a groom. The composition is both dramatic and naturalistic, showcasing careful detailing and technical skill. The statue is mounted on a red Peterhead granite plinth.
