Description

Canal Bridge Number 122 is a road bridge built around 1776 by Samuel Weston for the Chester Canal Company. It is constructed of washed brick with stone dressings. The bridge features a segmental brick arch supported by canted piers, which includes a keystone and a projecting stone course above. The rebuilt plain parapet has original coping that curves to form short wing walls, ending in plain pilasters topped with pyramidal stone caps. There is also a brick flight of steps and a stone stile located against the north-west wing wall.
