Description
Stoneydale is a house built in the mid to late 18th century, with 19th-century additions at the rear. It features Flemish bond orange brick with yellow headers and stone dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof and two brick gable chimneys. The building is two stories high with a two-bay front. It has a stone plinth, which is moulded on one side, and a coped brick blocking course. The windows are flush 12-pane sashes set beneath flat, wedged-shaped stone heads and stone sills. The door on the left has a semi-circular gauged and rubbed brick head above the doorcase, which is flanked by fluted columns. Above the door is a semi-circular fanlight with radial glazing bars surrounded by a Greek key design. The door itself is a six-panelled type. The rear extensions are in keeping with the original style. Inside, there are moulded 19th-century door architraves with square rosettes in the corners, containing five and six-panelled doors. The open well staircase features plain balusters and a bracketed open string, while the first floor has panelled shutters that are fielded.
