Description

SJ 46 NW CHRISTLETON C.P. PEPPER STREET (North Side)

3/24 South and east garden wall (up to footpath gateway) of Christleton House GV II

Garden walls and entrance: c.1830 with some C19 alterations. Flemish bond orange brick with stone dressings. South wall is lowered to the left and carries iron railings on a stone coping. Towards the right the wall has its original height and flat coping. This rises above a stone gateway with a lintel with an ogee - sloped soffit and a C20 board gate. Wall turns to the east and the original portion ends in a bold ramp. Remainder of the east wall and the heavily restored gazebo are not included in the item. Listed for group value only.
