Gatepiers with attached walls and railings at Tattenhall Lodge.

Gatepiers with attached walls and railings. Mid C19. For the Bolesworth Castle estate. Ashlar sandstone with wrought-iron railings. Pair of gate piers with that to right linked to two matching piers set in on L-shape; dwarf walls and railing screens set between. The piers each have chamfered plinth and arrises and have castellated caps (one displaced). Linking walls have chamfered plinths, small intermediate piers and chamfered copings. Railings have quatrefoils decorated by foliage beneath mid-rail with clustered-leaf finials;top rail surmounted by similar finials with spikes between, taller central spike with clustered leafs and ball.
