Description
Vine Cottage and Smithy Cottage are a pair of cottages built around 1863 for the 2nd Marquis of Westminster. They are constructed from brown brick with a front in Flemish bond and feature a grey slate gabled roof with a narrow span. The cottages have a central brick chimney that is stone-capped and stand two storeys high. Notable architectural details include dentillated eaves, gauged brick heads above the window and door openings, and Gothick iron casements. The lower storey has three-light casements, while the upper storey has two-light casements, both with simulated bar tracery and circlets on the sides. The doors are framed and boarded. The interiors have not been inspected.
