Description

Mooresbarrow Hall is an early 19th-century farmhouse situated on Brereton Lane in Sproston. The building is constructed of brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern with a slate roof. It is three storeys high, with three bays, and includes a single-storey lean-to extension to the south gable. A ledged and battened door is set within a heavy frame. A three-course deep brick band is present at the first floor level. The windows are three-light casements with flat arches and stone keystones. The first and second storey windows in the centre bay are now blocked, but the soffit of the first floor centre window retains an ogee shape on both sides of the keystone. A toothed brick band runs along the eaves. Three blocked window openings are visible in the north gable, and gable end stacks are present. The interior features chamfered beams and a combination of six-panel and ledged and battened doors.
