Description
Marsh Hall is a former farmhouse, now a private house, dating from the mid-17th century but reconstructed in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with plastered panels and a thatched roof, standing at a single storey with an attic. The building measures 16 panels in length and 6 panels wide, with three windows. The walls are constructed with small framing and angle braces. The north and south elevations have replaced oak boarded doors set in oak frames. The ground floor has oak mullion windows with leaded lattice glazing, including three-and-four-light windows on the north side and four-and-five-light windows on the south side. A slightly projecting five-light window is located in the east gable-end at ground floor level, and all attic windows are situated in the gables. The chimney stack is made of old bricks. Inside, the timbers in the internal walls are exposed, showcasing chamfered beams and ceiling joists, along with replacement oak boarded doors. During the reconstruction, roof dormers were removed and the interior floor arrangement was altered.
