Description
The roadside barn, located 40 meters west of Hoofield Hall, was built around 1870 for John Tollemache. It is constructed of orange brick in English garden wall bond and features a Welsh slate roof. The barn has a long rectangular shape and a two-storey, seven-bay front. The center of the front is under a gable and includes painted decorative timber framing above two circular pitch-holes with stone sills. On the ground floor, there are two three-light casements with diamond pane glazing. The right side of the wall is blank except for ventilation patterns, while the left side has a driftway and two doorways with a circular pitch-hole above. The right gable includes a hoist under a projecting hood. At the rear, there is a cartshed and additional casements with glazing bars. The range running towards the house is noted as having no special interest. The barn is listed for its group value.
