Description
The Heritage is a cottage, likely built in the mid 17th century, which has been altered over time. It features brick-nogged oak small framing below the former wall-plate, with painted brick above. The roof is covered with grey slate and the building has two storeys. On the lower storey, there are two 3-light small-pane casements, while the upper storey has two 2-light small-pane casements set in gabled half-dormers. The upper panels include diagonal braces. There are two brick chimneys; a flush gable chimney at the right end and a projecting gable chimney at the left end, which is partly removed. A painted brick lean-to extends from the right gable-end, and there is a late 20th-century single-storey rear wing that is not included in the listing.
Inside, there are signs of a former inglenook fireplace against the right gable, along with chamfered beams. The layout has been altered and the staircase has been renewed. The original front entrance has been blocked, and the current entrance is through the rear wing. The building was formerly two cottages.
