Description
Moss Cottage is a house from the 18th century, constructed of red random bond brick and topped with a thatched roof. It has a two-storey, two-cell layout. The southeast front features three bays, with a central 20th-century two-light casement window that has replaced the original front door. On both the ground and first floors, there are replaced segment-headed three-light casement windows to the left and right. The house has two gable chimneys and a 19th-century outshut on the ground floor at the rear. Inside, there are chamfered ceiling beams in the parlour, along with a wooden bressumer built into the parlour. The roof structure consists of purlins and a ridge with plain rafters, but it lacks principals.
